The Bible says—There is Only One Way to Heaven
... one must turn from one’s sins and believe in, rely on, and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6b).
We have all sinned against God. The Bible states, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). God’s Son Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins—and rose from the dead, defeating death. Are you ready to accept God’s gift of salvation by repenting of your sins and trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God—Romans 3:23
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out”—Acts 3:19a
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”—John 3:16
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved—Romans 10:9
A suggested prayer
Father, I come to You, confessing my sin and asking for Your forgiveness. I thank You, Lord, for You have promised that if I will confess my sins, You will be faithful to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I want to turn from my sins and live in Your will. I ask that You give me the power through Your Holy Spirit to live the right way. I thank You that Jesus Christ died on the cross, paying the price for my sins, and then rose from the dead. I accept Him now as my Savior, my Lord, and my Friend. Thank You for giving me new life in Christ. I surrender myself to You; make me what You want me to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
The Next Steps
After repenting of your sins and trusting in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will want to begin growing in your faith. Here are a few basics to get you started:
Prayer is a way to communicate directly to God. It’s important to spend time talking to Him every day; the more the better. “... Let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6b; see also Psalm 5:3).
READ THE BIBLE
The Bible is like a love letter from God. The more you read it, the more you’ll fall in love with Him. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17; see also 1 Peter 2:2 and John 8:31-32).
You need to have friends who share your beliefs and who can encourage you. This is why it’s so important to find a Bible-believing church where you can meet other Christians (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Share your faith in Jesus Christ. Pray that God will reveal when and how to share with others. “Then He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men’” (Matthew 4:19; see also Matthew 28:18-20).
